The Rainbow Flower - Paperback

"Deep, deep under the sea

there are no folk like you and me

But way, way down in the dark abyss

are mermaid folk with tails like fish."

Katherine Hetzel takes a step away from writing fantasy novels for middle grade readers to pen a bedtime story for children.

Told in shimmering rhyming verse, The Rainbow Flower visits an enchanted undersea world of mermaid folk and colorful sea plants and creatures. The handsome and well-loved king who reigns over his peaceful realm should be happy, but is sad because he doesn't have a queen. Following a legend, the king decrees that the mermaid who brings him the illusive rainbow flower will become his queen.

The Rainbow Flower glistens with beautiful illustrations depicting an underwater world filled with vibrant color that is sure to capture the imagination of dreamers of all ages.
