The Torch - Paperback

They called him the Wolf. A man of blazing personality and apocalyptic vision; a man who believed that he was dying and who had one last, impossible goal to reach before that happened. Round him he gathered a small company of hard fighting men, all of whom would die for him and for the Torch he had lit to illuminate the dark places of diplomatic expediency. And the world watched as he held destiny in his hands and sent terror rushing down the corridors of power. As the characters emerge, exerting their subtle influences on each other in reluctant collaboration or instinctive hostility, the most unbelievable pattern takes shape. Moving assuredly from London to Moscow and back from Downing Street to the Hertfordshire countryside, the author keeps the action surging forward to a hair-raising climax.
