There Are Some Secrets - Paperback

by Sara Sass (Author)

Who was the man behind the publishing house that brought "Winnie-the-Pooh" to the world?

Editor E. V. Lucas - author, publisher, critic, worldwide traveler, and purported owner of the finest pornographic library in London - joined illustration and text together in the beloved children's books. A friend of Peter Pan author Sir J. M. Barrie, Lucas' glittering literati circle influenced theatre, silent film and wartime charity efforts throughout the 20th century. A fixture of Edwardian society, Lucas' lively parties blended together artists, actors and politicians with a cryptic undertone.

In There Are Some Secrets, author Sara Sass untangles the historical threads of Edwardian pleasure, pain, and mystery that continue to impact our western world.
