Tragedy in a Green Dress - Paperback

by Preston McDuncan (Author)

Lily is a teenage girl from a small town in Canada who has been homeschooled all her life. So, when her family moves to New York and she is exposed to life inside a public high school, she is more than shocked to see how aggressive city life can be. She learns quickly that public school is more about survival than it is about learning and, despite her good nature, she cannot change the world on her own.

Her new school is a lonely, hostile, and sometimes dangerous place. Everywhere Lily goes she is exposed to bullying, violence, and predatory behavior. Disrespect is common-the teachers are overworked, and the students live in constant fear. Will Lily find a way to adapt to city life? Find out in this work of social commentary of daily life in an urban public school, inspired by real events and characters imbued with real-world accuracy.
