White Eldorado, Black Fever - Paperback

by Rais Neza Boneza (Author)

....i saw the gods in the lush landscape that passed before my eyes. Their beauty illuminated my thoughts....for kilometers, we saw no houses or huts, as if this heavenly landscape was empty of men. We were truly playing at lost Wild West, in this country's far south where dreams alongside nightmares, beauty and darkness residing together. Where everything is possible in excess...."This is a story about a journey, where along the way, the protagonists learn about themselves and each other, and about the world at large. The book is told with a language reminiscent of the fable, and some fables are woven into the story. The book can be nicely read as a story of two young boys who go out into the world to seek happiness and who do not find what they had expected, which is a well-known theme. However, the story is more about today's Congo politics, social situation and about the conflict mineral. Coltan is an important component of mobile phones and PlayStations, and so this is a story that concerns us all, whether we want it or not. Probably we do not want it; because the reality described in the book is an unpleasant reality we help to keep up through our consumption". Ranja Bojer, author (Norway)."In this tales, Rais Neza Boneza uses the eyes of painters to gives us in interior landscape. It is not a journey to the center of the earth but rather a journey to heart of heart." Octavio Gil Villegos, Artist (Mexico).Rais Neza Boneza (1979) is a poet and author.
