Trouble always has a way of finding me. When a large man grabs me and throws me into the back of a white, windowless van while I'm being chased by an angry drug dealer, I can't say I'm surprised. While it's the first time this has occurred, I've been in weirder situations.

It's probably more accurate to say I have a way of finding trouble. Because when the man says he was hired by my brother to save me, I'm not surprised. I am surprised when I end up on a ranch somewhere in Wyoming near the Rocky Mountains, in some kind of lucrative mafia witness protection program. When I mess that up within a week by sleeping with one of the owners, well, no one is surprised by that.

I left my home in Kansas City only to ruin things in Wyoming. I'm not sure I'm cut out to be cowgirl, but I'll be damned if this breaks me.
