Women of the Horse - Hardcover

by Jane Corkish (Author)

At the end of her life, Professor Kate Stockholder makes one final request: tell the story. What begins as a quiet chosen death in a Vancouver penthouse becomes the spark that unleashes a buried past, one of violence, survival and fierce, untamed women.

Through the voice of Dr. Elise, physician, confessor and reluctant storyteller, Women of the Horse weaves together generations of girls and women bound by trauma, resilience and an ancient, almost mythic connection to horses.

From the shadowed forests of 1970s British Columbia to haunted childhoods marked by abuse and defiance, these women do not simply endure, they fight back.

As truth blurs with fiction, and memory fractures into legend, a powerful question emerges: What does it take to reclaim your story, and what are you willing to risk to tell it?

Raw, lyrical and unflinching, Women of the Horse is a story of survival, sisterhood and the wild enduring spirit that refuses to be broken.
