JILLIAN MIAO grew up in New Canaan, Connecticut, where she now lives with her husband and two young daughters. Her first children's books, Good Morning, Garden and Peekaboo, Flowers, are a tribute to her late mother, a gardener who taught her to never eat a bleeding heart, to stop and smell a lilac, and to cherish the simple beauty of forget-me-nots as a reminder of loved ones.
