About Lewis M. Holmes Books
Lewis M. Holmes is a Ph.D. scientist who has published in fields ranging from the technical to the biographical. He became interested in music history while researching the musical settings of the poems of an eighteenth-century German poet. He learned to play the sheng, a three-thousand-year-old musical instrument, while teaching in China. The experience opened his ears to the beauty of ancient music.
