About Sheila D. Gunter Books
The author holds two master's degrees, the first in Russian at the University of Texas at Austin (2002), and the second in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of North Texas (2012). She has written on many of the art songs of Dmitry Shostakovich and Modest Musorgsky, is also a pianist, having studied in Moscow, and aims in her writings, that are most often on Russian composers, to emphasize music's poetic nature which analysis often fails to capture.
