Josie and Simon's friendly childhood prank war began on Halloween in grade one and continued until Simon left their hometown of Concordia, Ontario. Now Simon is back just as Josie's candy shop is being threatened by a national competitor.

But that was certainly a coincidence, wasn't it? Simon had his reasons for coming back; his job was only one of them. Unfortunately, his job is putting Josie's business in peril. Now he has only a few months to make it right before Josie finds out it was all his idea.

It all comes to a head on Halloween, when Josie lets a freezing Simon into her home and the world gets a bit more interesting.
