Assassin at Allgate - Paperback

by Tristis Ward (Author)

She was built to commit the murder.

Now she must solve it.

When the alien aristocrat she was built to assassinate turns up murdered instead, what's an android assassin supposed to do? For Desire - a half-scale, hyper-advanced android with an attitude - it's simple: ditch her undercover brothel job, hack her way off the space station, and hunt down the real killer.

But in a society where machines are disposable property and androids without a purpose are sent for recycling, rogue androids are even more illegal than purpose-built assassins. Determined to survive, Desire escapes the station and begins hunting the real killer-only to collide with "The Law," a rule-bound rookie officer of galactic justice assigned to the case.

With aristocratic families covering their tracks, telepathic elites striking from the shadows, and conspiracies waiting at every turn, the two unlikely allies must put aside their differences to uncover the truth.

Because someone wanted the aristocrat dead.

And someone even more powerful will do anything to make sure no one learns why.

In this first installment of a new sci-fi mystery series by Tristis Ward, a rogue assassin android and a devout officer of galactic law become the galaxy's most unlikely detective team in a witty cross-galaxy adventure of conspiracies, secrets, and dangerous truths.

Assassin at Allgate (Desire & The Law Book 1) is perfect for readers who enjoy the rogue-AI wit of The Murderbot Diaries, the political scope of Ancillary Justice, and the adventurous spirit of The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet.
