Book Overview

by George B. Bridgman (Author)

Great drawing begins with understanding.

In Constructive Anatomy, legendary teacher George B. Bridgman shows how to build the human figure from the inside out. Muscles become forms, forms become movement, and movement becomes expression.

Bridgman's approach is direct, practical, and surprisingly modern-focused less on memorization and more on seeing structure, weight, balance, and rhythm. Complex anatomy is reduced to clear, interlocking masses, giving artists a way to think through the figure rather than simply copy what they see. The result is a method that develops both accuracy and vitality on the page and empowers artists to draw with confidence and vitality. Whether you're a student building fundamentals or an experienced illustrator refining your craft, Constructive Anatomy offers a powerful framework and tools you'll return to again and again.
