Andrew M.O. Ballard is Associate Professor of Political Science at Florida State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Duke University and previously was Assistant Professor of Government at American University. His research on lawmaking, the behavior of political parties in legislatures and elections, congressional communications, and public opinion have been published in the American Political Science Review, The Journal of Politics, Legislative Studies Quarterly, and more. Christopher Jan Carman is the Stevenson Professor of Citizenship at the University of Glasgow, where he has served as Dean of the School of Social and Political Sciences and Head of Department of Politics and International Relations.
