Display - Paperback

by Nicolaas Gad (Author)

A young man notices a glimpse of a pattern in his perception after an experience with drugs. At first, it seems insignificant. But when it doesn't go away-and he realises he's not alone in what he's experiencing-he begins to enquire further.

Display is a psychological novella that follows the inner experience of a young man, whose encounters with substances-and the effect they have on his perception-begin to shape the way he understands reality.

Told with calm precision and unflinching honesty, Display questions what the patterns seen in altered states actually are, explores what perception is made from, and follows an individual as he moves deeper into his own experience in search of meaning.

While the book includes experiences with psychedelics and other substances, its focus is not on the substances themselves, but on perception, meaning, and the fragile boundary between the imagination and reality.
