Set in a Disney-like theme park, the novel follows Julius, a man navigating a society obsessed with "Whuffie" a currency based on social capital. When Julius' beloved theme park is threatened by corporate takeovers and sinister plots, he must fight to protect both the park and his place in this hyper-competitive world. With its blend of science fiction, social commentary, and satire, Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom is a thought-provoking exploration of technology, human behavior, and the future of society in a world where death has lost its power.
