Florida Kills - Paperback

Retirement was supposed to be easy. Then the alligators got high on cocaine.

Detective Pete Landry thought he'd seen it all. As a burned-out cop and barstool regular in the sleepy town of Goodland, Florida, he was ready to coast into a quiet retirement. But when a notorious NYC mob boss and his trophy wife roll into town, Pete's laid-back life spirals into chaos.

Add a slippery attorney, a sultry herpetologist, and three bumbling mobsters to the mix, and you've got a recipe for disaster-or pure hilarity. Mysterious "Florida" deaths start piling up, and Pete finds himself knee-deep in a whirlwind of coked-up alligators, Cuban drug runners, classic cars, and a nymphomaniac with a penchant for trouble. From lethal coconuts to a junkyard tragedy involving a Honda Civic, the madness escalates.

In a state where the bizarre is just another day, Pete and his motley crew of quirky companions must navigate a maelstrom that could only occur in the feral heart of Florida.

Will Pete solve the case before retirement catches up with him-or will Florida kill him first?
