The continuation of Hick's Road: Jacob's Story, as told by the journal of Ann Miller.

Picking-up moments after Ann and Jacob part ways during a battle with the Hand of Transcendence, Ann mitigates the new challenges she faces with her surrogate Skitcha family and aristocratic upbringing. Aspiring to a position in the government, Ann questions the status-quo as a woman of the 1850s while working secretly on behalf of the tribe in a case against the reconstruction of the Quicksilver Mining Company. While protecting the spiritual roots of the Skitcha, Ann finds herself confronted by a mysterious group of businessmen who jeopardize the safety of Almaden Valley when they plan to construct a road that could divide the powers of the land as they know it. Presented with these threats, Ann must carve her own path as she fights for her family, the land, and the future of the tribe.

About Julian P. Flores

An American Storyteller Born in and native to San Jose, California, Julian was raised in a town called "Willow Glen." His art of storytelling began during his childhood through the visual arts. The first story he made was a picture stylebook called The Rabbit that Knew Kung-Fu. Julian focused his college studies on art, history, philosophy, art history, and design. Heavily experienced in the arts, his style focuses mostly on surrealism. Later, Julian had a major interest in movies, especially in the thriller/horror genre. As a kid (as early as five) he would watch horror movies with his older cousins. After being engrossed with movies Julian founded Silent Eye Productions. He was inspired and completed an independent film called Hicks Road. After the movie was privately released through various film festivals it received rave reviews. However, his decision not to show his film to the public has been a mystery. When his beloved wife, Roxanne, came into his life she realized that Julian had something special with his movie and said to him "you should make a book about this; tell the whole story you've imagined" and thus gave birth to the beginning of this story-Hicks Road: Jacob's Story. That was his spark, the key that opened him to a world of storytelling on a greater scale. The book is based on the actual mountain called Mount Umunhum, which has a road called "Hicks Road." Many locals from generation to generation have heard stories about this road and the urban legends that involve it. When he was a kid Julian himself experienced this legend firsthand. Until this day teens and enthusiasts drive to the road during the night to see it for themselves... When he isn't writing Julian is a lover of wine, art, food, gardening, the outdoors, socializing, watching movies, and reading (of course with some wine).
