King of the Nerds - Paperback

Noah Cannon has always felt out of place-too intense, too awkward, too "much." A high school teacher and lifelong nerd, he finds comfort in comics, gaming, and routines that make the world feel manageable. But when a series of social misfires at work and in his personal life begin to pile up, Noah is forced to confront a question he's quietly avoided: what if the problem isn't that he doesn't fit in-but that he's never understood why?

After stumbling into an autism and ADHD diagnosis as an adult, Noah begins to reinterpret his entire life through a new lens. Moments of isolation, misunderstood intentions, and sensory overwhelm suddenly make sense-but that clarity comes with a cost. As he navigates shifting relationships with coworkers, friends, and a complicated romance, Noah must decide whether to keep masking who he is or risk being seen fully for the first time.

Told with humor, heart, and a deep love of nerd culture, King of the Nerds is a story about identity, self-acceptance, and the courage it takes to stop performing for the world-and start understanding yourself.
