Misguided Illusions - Paperback

by Alex Ikedo Duvall (Author)

Misguided Illusions is a dark, provocative psychological thriller set in the neon-lit underbelly of New York City, where glamour masks obsession and desire turns deadly.

As drag performers light up the stage with glamour, wit, and defiance, a far more sinister story unfolds behind closed doors. Broken identities, secret longings, and unresolved jealousy collide when a disturbed man's fixation on beauty and transformation spirals into violence. What begins as admiration mutates into control, and illusion becomes a weapon.

Moving between backstage dressing rooms, shadowed city streets, and intimate moments of vulnerability, Misguided Illusions explores themes of identity, obsession, gender performance, power, and the dangerous line between fantasy and reality. Rich in atmosphere and character-driven tension, this novel pulls readers into a world where everyone is performing-and someone is watching.

Bold, gritty, and emotionally charged, Misguided Illusions is a haunting story of longing, illusion, and the price of living behind a mask.
