Book Overview

Though Chappell has often been hailed by reviewers as the "new" Hillerman - his readers find his writing to be both unique and original. And he is at his best with this gripping new mystery/thriller, weaving traditional and modern Navajo culture around the tale of Mexico's most ruthless killer, loose on the reservation. " No one knew what a really bad man was... now they do!" Charlie, Thomas and Harley Ponyboy can track prey but can they catch a killer before he catches them? "Chappell breaks the mold with this thriller, raising storytelling and knowledge of the Navajo culture to an entirely new level. We dare you to put it down before the hair-raising end. "Mojado, a stand-alone novel, is book number four in the Navajo Nation Mystery Series.

About R. Allen Chappell

Writer, poet, R. Allen Chappell's work has appeared in magazines, literary and poetry publications, and has been featured on public radio and television. The author and his wife spend most winters on a small sailboat in Mexico and summers at home in Colorado, where he pursues a lifelong interest in southwestern archaeology/anthropology. Dedicated horsemen and blue-water sailors, the couple are equally at home packing into the back country or sailing offshore. Much of the inspiration for his work comes from a life lived at the edge of the great reservation. The novel - NAVAJO AUTUMN - is available as a paperback on Amazon, or Kindle download, and is the precursor to his Navajo Nation mystery series. Second in the series - BOY MADE OF DAWN - is now out as both a paperback and on Kindle. His short story collection - Fat of The Land - is on Amazon in paperback and on kindle.
