No Hill to Die On - Paperback

by Martin Roy Hill (Author)

Twenty-five years ago, war correspondent Peter Brandt buried his older brother, Keith-a Marine killed in Vietnam. Or so he believed.

Now Keith's former fiancée, Rhonda White, returns with an impossible claim: Keith Brandt may still be alive.

Before Peter can discover the truth, Rhonda is found dead in San Diego Bay.

Her death forces Peter back into a war he thought was over-a war fought not on battlefields, but through secrets, lies, and buried memories. Determined to uncover what Rhonda discovered, Peter follows a trail from Southern California's beaches and mountains to the remote highlands of Costa Rica.

What he finds makes no sense.

Marines who fought beside Keith cannot agree on how he died. A powerful technology executive bears an uncanny resemblance to Keith's closest friend, who was supposedly killed in the same battle. A Navy investigator hid the results of a wartime investigation into a massive black-market operation. And a Costa Rican police officer may know far more than he admits.

As Peter gets closer to the truth, he faces the questions he has spent a lifetime avoiding:

Did Keith Brandt survive Vietnam and disappear into the shadows?

Who was the man his family buried?

And how many people will kill to keep the past buried forever?

A gripping military conspiracy thriller, No Hill to Die On explores the lasting scars of war, the secrets soldiers carry home, and one man's search for the truth about a brother he never stopped mourning.
