Her life's ambition has been and remains to rule as Countess once her aged father passes, thence to live in Utrecht and die "very old, very happy, and very unwed."Janalei already acts as regent, since her father is nearly housebound. She dresses in male garb and only answers to the title of: Vice-Count Utrecht of Vendink." Ordowahl has no preconceptions. He comes to Utrecht to study among its famed community of religious scholars. On meeting the vice-count he receives many warnings, the fiercest from her. Watch them collide, become familiar with each other's challenging characteristics, - - no giving away the ending!
