Book Overview

Soar like a bird and feel the wind beneath your wing as paragliding takes flight high above valleys and coastlines. This book dives into paragliding's journey from experimental gliders to global adventure sport. With behind-the-scenes pilot stories and aerodynamic insights, young explorers will uncover how wing design, weather patterns, and safety harnesses come together to navigate thermals, ridge lifts, and tranquil descents. Captivating aerial photographs and intriguing facts are accompanied by sidebars, a glossary, a selected bibliography, recommended websites, and an index.
