Princess Erie has done the impossible: she's transformed from a mermaid into a human. And no one, human or merfolk, knows how or why. But below the surface, trouble brews as the King demands his daughter's return, and her incompetent brother tries his best to land a blow the humans can't ignore. As Erie delights in the human world and all it's wonders, the merfolk grow more desperate to "save" her, resulting in an attack on the shore that gets more merfolk killed than humans.

Erie comes up with a plan to humanize her people and stop the bloodshed. But when the humans brazenly attack the Seadom, she must chose which side of the shore she's on: human, or merfolk?
