Shadowman - Paperback

A sea of tormented souls writhed about within Elijah Blackwood's brain like parasitic worms. With each new soul he harvested the deeper he was drawn into the demon's web with no means of escaping his immortality. At the very moment, when he felt he could not absorb the darkness of even one more evil presence, he encountered the children. From the moment Elijah fell into league with the odd little native woman, Wenonah, his life became a struggle to free himself from her clutches. Standing on the shores of Minis Gitigaan, an island of the dead in the middle of Lake Michigan, Elijah's thoughts turned to the wretched little child-crone responsible for his anguish. Thus far he had managed to elude her malignancy, but for how long and at what cost? One aspect of immortality rang true, it offered a man plenty of time to pray for death.
