Shift Change - Paperback

"When you get to the end of something, isn't it only natural to look back to the beginning?"

Three years after leaving Sunrise behind, Vern receives a jarring phone call, knocking loose old memories that he'd carefully tucked away. While sifting through this time in his life, Vern is slowly reminded that everything has a way of coming full circle.

Told through vignettes, SHIFT CHANGE captures the formative experiences of Vern's time at Sunrise Services, as he learns to navigate a mental health program that provides live-in treatment for teens. A year-in-the-life story of a youth counsellor, SHIFT CHANGE is a visceral reflection on the routines, chaos, and quirks of shift work.
