The Cat Came Back - Paperback

by Clark (Author)

Frank Jamieson, golden boy gone bad, has disappeared, taking along with him the family fortune. His wife, Christy, needs to find him, for her future and more importantly, for her daughter's future well-being and success.

Ten years ago, Christy was a regular girl who met her prince. He was her hero, her knight in shining armour, the love she always knew she wanted. They were married and she moved with him to his home town of Vancouver, British Columbia. There she discovered that Frank wasn't a knight, he was the family bad boy. The wayward one. And she, Christy, was just another of his transgressions.

With Frank no longer in the picture, the trustees who manage his vast fortune see an opportunity to separate Christy from her beloved daughter, Noelle, the Jamieson heir. To make sure that doesn't happen, Christy needs to find Frank, but she has no idea how to go about it.

Enter Quinn Armstrong, an award-winning journalist. He'll help Christy, but for a price. He's writing an expose on sons of the wealthy and he wants the dirt on Frank. Is selling out her errant husband a price Christy can afford to pay? Can she afford not to?

And just what does Stormy the family cat have to do with Christy's ever-growing crisis? Is he the cause? Or the solution?

Called "a deftly crafted and consistently compelling read from beginning to end" by the Midwest Book Review, The Cat Came Back will keep readers turning the page until the final, satisfying conclusion.
