The Planet Savers: A Positronic Book - Paperback

Marion Zimmer Bradley's The Planet Savers is a classic science fiction adventure set on the mysterious world of Darkover, where two civilizations struggle to understand each other across the boundaries of culture and biology.

On the distant planet Darkover, Terran colonists have established a fragile foothold in a harsh and unfamiliar environment. When a deadly epidemic threatens both the Terran settlers and the native inhabitants of the planet, the crisis reveals how little the two societies truly understand one another.

At the center of the story is Jay Allison, a Terran officer who finds himself drawn into a mission that requires cooperation with the enigmatic native peoples of Darkover. As the investigation unfolds, the search for a cure leads deep into the alien wilderness, where the survival of both cultures may depend upon learning to bridge the divide between them.

First published in the early years of Bradley's career, The Planet Savers helped establish the foundations of the Darkover series, one of the most influential science fiction settings of the twentieth century. Combining adventure, anthropology, and speculative science, the novel explores themes of cultural encounter, responsibility, and the challenges of life on a distant world.
