Roy Archer has lived his whole life in darkness. Sam Thorn has been slowing down recently. As a bitter, manipulative middle-manager still trying desperately to pick up drunk college kids half his age, the rabbit was losing his touch until that bear showed up in his life - the most interesting thing to happen to him in years.

Every two months, the men meet, and sink deeper into beautiful mutually assured destruction. They veer between tenderness, violence, joy, and fear, as obsession and unexpected feelings drive them into the other's path again and again.
