Within and Without - Paperback

by Harry Henry Wallace (Author)

It's the summer of 1986, and fifteen-year-old Ruben, torn between two worlds, embarks on a life-altering journey to his family's homeland in Chile.

Caught between his Chilean roots and life in Australia, Ruben is faced with a pivotal choice. Guided by a wise old Indian and a cryptic lesson on fate, his idyllic summer takes a dramatic turn when he falls in love with his half-cousin-a forbidden love-and faces the painful reality of returning to Australia.

Three years later, Ruben is reluctantly drawn back to Chile, this time with his father, with whom he has a troubled relationship. As he navigates the complexities of the Medina family and his culture, Ruben embarks on a profound spiritual awakening that will change him forever.

A poignant coming-of-age tale, Within and Without explores the power of love, fate, and self-discovery. It reminds us that life is both the path we choose and the path chosen for us.
