The Storm's Intent - Paperback

"The rain falls on the righteous and the unrighteous alike..."

Still reeling from the dark revelations of Miriam Carter-Blanc, FBI consultant Sophie Quinn is hot on the trail of the man who destroyed her family, the River Killer. But as conspiracies and cover-ups surface, Sophie is faced with threats closer to home, and she and her partner, Agent Jonathan Greer, find themselves caught in a web of corruption that threatens not only their careers but their lives.

A Category Five hurricane tears through Louisiana, and as duty and obsession pull her in opposite directions, Sophie finds herself trapped in the ancestral home of the obscenely wealthy Gardiner family.

The first-born son of the Gardiner patriarch is dead, murdered while his family slept. But as accusations fly and decades-old secrets come to light, the heir to the Gardiner fortune is only the first victim. And locked behind storm shutters as 150-mile-an-hour winds decimate the region outside, Sophie is certain of only one truth: everyone is a suspect... and no one is innocent.
