Alex Michaelides is a renowned British-Cypriot author, best known for his debut novel “The Silent Patient,” which quickly became a New York Times bestseller and earned him an Edgar Award for Best First Novel by an American Author in 2020. Before launching his successful writing career, Alex earned a degree in English literature from Cambridge University followed by a postgraduate degree in screenwriting from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. Michaelides worked as a screenwriter before switching to novels, with his credits including films like “The Devil You Know” and “The Con Is On.” He found international recognition with “The Silent Patient,” which has garnered him widespread acclaim, several awards, and has been sold in 49 countries.
