About Madeline Miller

Madeline Miller is an acclaimed American author, best known for her novels “The Song of Achilles” and “Circe”. Both works, which delve into classic mythology from fresh, humanizing perspectives, gained international recognition. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Miller holds a BA in Latin and Ancient Greek from Brown University and an MA in Classics from the University of Chicago. She was awarded the Orange Prize for Fiction in 2012 for “The Song of Achilles” and “Circe” was shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction in 2019. Prior to becoming a full-time writer, Miller worked as a Latin and Greek teacher. She continues to draw on her background in classics to reimagine famous tales from ancient times.
