Born on December 19, 1975, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Brandon Sanderson is an American author renowned globally for his high fantasy works. Known for his intricate magic systems and well-developed characters, Sanderson stands as a household name in the realm of fantasy literature. He rose to unprecedented fame with his New York Times bestselling series, Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive, and his significant contribution to the successful completion of the late Robert Jordan's epic Wheel of Time series. Sanderson's journey to becoming a prolific author began from Brigham Young University, where he received his Bachelor's degree in English. After a brief stint with biochemistry, he realized his true calling laid in the art of storytelling, prompting him to pursue a Master's degree in Creative Writing. In 2005, he published his debut work, Elantris, which received critical acclaim and signaled his arrival in the literary scene. Beyond his solo creations, Sanderson is revered for his commendable effort in continuing Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series after the author's sudden demise. Not only did he manage to retain the series' essence, but he also gave it a fitting conclusion that was praised by critics and fans alike.
